ADMISSIONS PROCESS

 
Thank you for choosing to apply for graduate studies at Bethune-Cookman University; we are very excited you are interested in pursuing a world class graduate education. In order to be successful in the application process, it is important that you follow the self-managed process of coordinating your documents. Many programs at Bethune-Cookman have specific application requirements in addition to general admissions requirements. Please check your program listing to see if supplemental or alternative documentation is needed.
 
You should apply online and submit supplemental materials directly to the Graduate Admissions office. When submitting these supplemental materials, please make sure to clearly indicate the correct address and department (Graduate Admissions) for your processing office.
 

 
To be admitted into the School of Graduate Studies, an applicant must meet the following requirements:
  • Graduate application for admission (electronically signed and submitted by applicant)
  • $50 application fee.
  • Submission of official (final) transcript from all universities/colleges attended, with degree date and if applicable, transcript(s) of all graduate coursework attempted.
Graduate Degree Program Requirements
 

To be admitted into the Master of Science in Transformative Leadership degree program in addition to meeting the general requirements, an applicant must meet the following requirements:
 
  • An Undergraduate Average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale in the last 60 semester hours is required from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Three letters of Recommendation  (former professors or employees preferred) from persons who can attest to the applicant's ability to perform at the graduate level.
  • Current Resume or CV
  • An Essay on a social or economic topic of your choice to include a reference page. The essay should be in APA style and typed using 12 font and Times New Roman . The essay should be attached to the admission application. 
  • GRE scores

Integrated Environmental Science Degree Program Requirements
 
 
To be admitted into the Master of Science in Integrated Environmental Science degree program in addition to meeting the general requirements, an applicant must meet the following requirements:
 
  • An Undergraduate Average of 3.0 on a 4.0 (or 2.75 for provisional acceptance) on a 4.0 scare from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Preferred:  a major or minor in environmental science, environmental studies, resource management, resource economics, or a similar environmentally-related program.
  • Three Recommendation Forms (former professors preferred) from persons who can attest to the applicant's ability to perform at the graduate level. To download the form, select the link. 
  • An 800 Word Entrance Essay which demonstrates your ability to organize your thoughts and express yourself. The essay should be typed using 12 font and Times New Roman.  The essay may be faxed to (386) 481-2380. 
  • Submission of GRE (Graduate Record Exam) test scores.  GRE scores in the upper 50 percentile for each section.  Students with lower scores (minimum 1000) can be admitted provisionally.
Counseling Psychology Degree Program Requirements
 
 
To be admitted into the Master of Science in Counseling Psychology degree program in addition to meeting the general requirements, an applicant must meet the following requirements:
  • An Undergraduate Average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • An undergradute degree in a Human Service Program or related program. 
  • Program Interview.
  • Submission of GRE (Graduate Record Exam) test scores.
